Why is SOASTA releasing CloudTest Lite?

SOASTA CloudTest® provides organizations with the industry’s leading cloud-based performance software to improve the performance, functionality and dependability of their website. We offer a number of product editions to meet the needs of every customer.

Now, for the first time in SOASTA’s history, a free version of our product is now available: CloudTest Lite.

CloudTest Lite is an enterprise-class, performance and functional testing platform enabling rapid test creation and real-time resolution. The Free CloudTest Lite Edition is aimed at groups or individuals who:

1. Are evaluating any CloudTest product edition or service
2. Want to implement performance testing early in the development cycle
3. Are executing small-scale performance tests in QA, staging or production
4. Want to use CloudTest Lite to verify web application functionality
5. Want to add Cloud Testing skills to their resume.

The launch of CloudTest Lite allows users to become familiar with and benefit from the capabilities of SOASTA’s CloudTest Platform at no cost. SOASTA’s goals are simple. To increase the User Community and market awareness of SOASTA CloudTest.

Capabilities of CloudTest Lite.

At SOASTA we acknowledge the importance of a highly functioning website, and CloudTest Lite is the premier free solution to ensure superior web performance. Once you download CloudTest Lite you can:

• Test web and mobile applications, to verify functionality and performance, including applications using the latest technologies:  Ajax, Silverlight, Flash, HTML5 and REST web services
• Quickly build tests with visual test creation tools
• Scale tests to 100 virtual users
• Integrate application, system, and network monitoring data
• Analyze results in real-time through interactive, integrated dashboards

CloudTest Lite Restrictions:

CloudTest Lite is a single server, single user version of CloudTest that allows the serial execution of performance and functional tests of up to 100 Virtual Users or less. Tests built in CloudTest Lite will run in every other CloudTest product version. The Test Creation, Test Execution and Real-time Analytics Dashboards are identical to the capabilities of the commercial product editions of CloudTest.

Our award winning software is marked by its speed, agility, scalability and real-time analytics. Premier packages include extensive support, as well as the ability to run testing at higher volumes, from SOASTA’s Global Test Cloud Platform. Where to receive CloudTest Lite support?

All Support for CloudTest Lite will be delivered from SOASTA’s Community Forum called CloudLink. CloudLink is an online customer support network, which includes detailed training videos, documentation, knowledge bases, and discussion boards. This community forum is designed to support you from initial download through installation and ongoing use. Content is continuously updated by SOASTA’s performance engineering team as well as the entire CloudLink Community, resulting in efficient customer support as well as an opportunity to collaborate and network with other CloudTest users.

Acceptable Use Policy

If you choose to download SOASTA’s CloudTest Lite, you are agreeing to SOASTA’s Terms of Service, Software License Agreement, and Acceptable Use Policy:

• You may not use the product for any illegal purpose.
• You may not combine the use of multiple copies of CloudTest Lite to execute tests beyond the intended restrictions.
• You may not use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the product for any purpose.
• All components of SOASTA’s CloudTest Software are SOASTA’s exclusive property and all software may not be duplicated, reproduced, modified, or hacked.
• SOASTA’s release of CloudTest Lite is intended solely for authorized users, and the registered user is responsible for any misuse on the users’ account.
• Users are not permitted to distribute any spam or viruses, or interfere with the service of other users.
