A Time Delay is a test clip component that specifies an interval to wait, in milliseconds, before sending the following message or browser action. A delay may be an essential component whenever the prior action requires some sort of response. Delays can be placed into test clips in the same manner as any other clip element. See Delay for instructions to add a time delay to a clip. Changing a Single Delay Offset in a Test Clip Once a delay is added to a clip its offset time can be set accordingly. To change the length in milliseconds of delays in a test clip, click the time setting on the Delay icon to enter edit mode. Type the new number of milliseconds into the entry field and then click OK to confirm. For WSDL targets, delays can also be defined within the Target Editor for any given message or browser operation where those delays are defined in the target WSDL.
Setting Individual Delays in a Clip CloudTest includes the ability to set think times by the use of random, multiple, and override delays for the test clip as a whole via the Clip Editor, as well as to set delays for a given track or an entire test composition via the Composition Editor. Individual delays (as described above) in the test clip can be overridden using a set duration or a random duration between a given range. Individual delays can be adjusted by incrementing their values by a specified duration and/or setting a maximum duration for them.
Setting Delays for a Clip To inspect and/or edit delay settings in a test clip, click the Clip Editor, Properties tab on the lower panel, and then select the Delays node in the Property Type list.
With Delay selected, check the Override Delay settings box to activate the settings below. Optionally, select Replace the individual Delay settings.
To set a specific duration for the delay, enter its value in milliseconds (ms).
To set a random duration for delays within a range, select Random duration between: and then define both the lower and upper end for that range.
To adjust delays already defined in the test clip, select Adjust the individual Delay settings and then check one or both of: Adjust duration by: Enter an additional number of milliseconds to existing delays Maximum duration: Enter a maximum value in milliseconds for existing delays. For example, to add 10 seconds to all delays, check Adjust duration by: and then enter 10000. To specify a maximum duration for the adjustment (or for the specific values already in the test clip), check Maximum duration and then specify a max value for all delays.
Setting Delays for a Track Think times can be set for tracks by the use of random, multiple, and override delays in the Composition Editor. These delay settings will override or adjust delays within all the test clips on the given track. To set delays, first select the track in the Composition Editor. Then, right-click and choose Edit Properties. The Composition Editor properties will open in the lower panel with the given track selected in the Property list on the left. Just as in the Clip Editor, check Override Delay settings to set overrides for all the test clips within the track, and/or check Adjust the individual Delay settings to add duration or to set a maximum duration.

To set delays, click the Properties tab in the Composition Editor. Click the Composition node in the Property list. The composition-wide properties open in the panel on the right. Click the Delays tab. Just as in the Clip Editor, check Override Delay settings to set overrides for all the test clips within the track, and/or check Adjust the individual Delay settings to add duration or to set a maximum duration.
