Installing the Browser Recorder Extension

Prerequisites

The Browser Recorder requires using the Firefox Browser. To get started, launch CloudTest within Firefox and then proceed with the instructions below.

TIP: Browser recording options appeared in all browsers in prior releases. As of the Veyron release (Build 5843.3 or later), browser recording features appear only in the supported Firefox.

 

Installing the Browser Recorder Extension from the Clip Editor

  1. With CloudTest open in the Firefox browser, click Clips > New to launch the Clip Editor. When a new Untitled Test Clip is created, the Clip Editor launches with a Record prompt such as the one shown on the right.

  1. Once ready, click the Record drop-down.
  2. If the necessary Browser Recorder extension has yet to be installed, the additional drop-down Download the Browser Recorder Extension command will appear. Choose this command to install the extension.

  1. You will see the following warning in your Firefox Browser. Click Allow.

  1. When you do so, the Browser Recorder extension is downloaded and the Add-Ons dialog box appears. Select the extension to activate the Install button, and then click Install.

  1. After install is complete, an additional Restart Firefox prompt appears. Click Restart Now to complete the installation.
  2. After restart, return to the Clip Editor in Firefox. This time when you click Record, twoe additional Record commands will appear.

Installing the Browser Recorder Extension from the Welcome Page

The Browser Recorder Extension can also be installed from the Welcome page. This method is useful when you want to configure a desktop client's Firefox in advance of browser recording.

  1. Go to the Central list > Welcome page

 

  1. Click the Browser Recorder Installer option under Downloads.

You will see the following warning in your Firefox Browser. Click Allow.

  1. When you do so, the Browser Recorder extension is downloaded and the Add-Ons dialog box appears. Select the extension to activate the Install button, and then click Install.

  2. After restart, return to the Clip Editor in Firefox. This time when you click Record, twoe additional Record commands will appear.
