Configurin g an Amazon EC2 Account to Use CloudTest
|
A prerequisite for using CloudTest's public cloud capabilities is to have an account with the Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) Service. Once an EC2 account is established, use the AWS Management Console. Before proceeding with the Cloud Provider Accounts section below, ensure that the following information is available:
As the Amazon EC2 documentation explains, “Elastic IP addresses are static IP addresses designed for dynamic cloud computing. An Elastic IP address is associated with your account, not a particular instance.” Refer to the Using Instance IP Addresses chapter of the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud User Guide.
CloudTest Pro requires that the "default" Security Group allow inbound access via ports 80 and 443. Security group settings can be managed in the AWS Management Console, under "Network & Security" -> "Security Groups".
Note This process must be repeated for each EC2 region that you plan to use.
For more information and screenshots, refer to the Amazon EC2 article, Using Security Groups.
If you wish to use multiple AWS accounts in a single Grid, then you must also open port 8443 in the Security Groups for each account. This is likely going to be the case for customers who have the environment under their own AWS account and are then using our Load Test Plan AWS account.
