Combining and Correlatin g Charts
Charts with similar data can be combined or correlated using drag and drop. This includes the out-of-the-box charts provided in the Widget Type list's Charts or Monitors category, as well as from an external data source.
Once a widget is successfully dropped onto a second widget, the following menu options appear. Choose Combine, Correlate, or Cancel (to abandon the resulting chart). The default title for the combined widget will be the title of Widget 1 vs. the title of Widget 2. You can rename the widget in the Edit Widget panel. The default title for the correlated widget with is the title of Widget 1 over Widget 2.
Use this option to show the resulting data concurrently with a separate axis for each data set. |
Use this option to create a statistical correlation between two datasets using time to join the two datasets. For example, to see how the number of errors changes as the number of virtual users increases, drop an Error Count chart on top of a Virtual User chart. Or, to see how response time degrades as the number of virtual users increases, drop the Average Response Time chart onto the Virtual Users chart.
Click Cancel to abandon the widget combination. |

When a chart cannot be combined or correlated a drop target a Stop icon appears. |

For example, in the Average Response Time vs. Bytes Sent and Received chart shown above, the Bytes Sent and Received chart was dropped onto the Max Response Time chart and assigned the specified colors as a line chart. Click the Legend to review the color assignment and to toggle either chart on/off. |

To correlate results with monitorsOnce a widget displays a single resource set it can be easily combined with a Monitor widget. You can select one or more result items in the Composition Editor, Results tab to display data for the selection and then create a correlated chart using drag and drop. |

Correlate a Monitor with MonitorsIt is possible to correlate monitor data to monitor data that is present on a dashboard, and where the data can be combined or correlated.

Combining and Correlating External Data WidgetsWidgets from external data can be combined and correlated using the same techniques used with other CloudTest widgets. When both widgets are already in a dashboard, drag a neighboring widget onto the drop target. Widgets from external data can be dropped from the Widget Type list on to a widget in the dashboard just as with any other type of widget. In either case, the Combine box appears. |

Selecting a data type other than the default for a given widget will change the y-axis for that chart. In the screenshot below, the default Bytes (Binary) data type used in its y-axis (red) for Bytes Total has been changed to Percent. |
